Bob;

Your original question was if I would accept a tax increase. You immediately slipped off to another issue. Oil companies will be taxed whether they like it or not.

Well I think of you as the voice of oil. When I asked you if you would accept an increase in taxes for drilling in your favorite spot - I of course didn't actually mean you as an individual. That is rather silly. Whether or not oil companies are taxed now has nothing to do with the original question as to if you - I mean they - would accept a tax increase.

Now as far as staying on issue; My comments to you have been very specific and consistent. I have argued with you from day one that America will be ahead and Americans will be better off if - or rather when we are able to wean ourselves from ME oil. Switching to domestic oil at the same time we increase demand for oil WILL NOT in the long term reduce our need for oil from radical ME countries. When an individual fills up his SUV with ME oil that money often ends up in the pockets of those trying to destroy us. You may not like this conclusion, but calling me names isn't going to change it.
