They are a very clever government, and they are clearly quite logical. . .
. . .Even Saddam was amenable to reason if you understood his reasoning.
I agree with both of those statements, but Iran, Saddam's Iraq and many if not all Middle Eastern countries are reasonable and logical only for their own self-interests and their own . Their self-interests are clearly governed by their Imams and their 11th Century mindset.
It is clear they plan to take over the world one way or the other. Flying planes into buildings doesn't work, but it gets them fired up and our own politically correct mindset is incapable of coping with the underlying problem.
The underlying problem is outlined in this video, which I posted earlier. It is long, but worth viewing if there's any doubt in your mind. video.google.com
The underlying problem is that their 11th Century leadership is bent on exploiting every reference in the Koran that suggests vengeance or destruction of infidels in order to destroy Western Civilization. Until their peaceable elements rise up and overthrow this antiquated leadership, there is no hope for peace. We can't do it for them.
We did it for ourselves, by adopting a 21st Century ethic, such as overlooking similar passages in the Bible that, if pursued literally, would result in 11th Century style warfare.
The best we can do is to keep them from infiltrating our entire existence until they successfully implement Sharia law, what ever that is, and impose it on the rest of us. I don't know how best to do that, but we can start by overcoming our politically correct sensibilities and defending OUR interests without the requirement to assign some kind of legitimacy to concepts that are incompatible with our Constitution.
We are our own worst enemy because we entertain the naive notion that these countries are amenable to OUR brand of reason. They aren't, and we'd better get over it.
Obama is used to dealing with state legislatures and feel-good movements like the Million Man March, and with churches that tolerate the likes of Reverend Wright condemning the very nation that allows them to exist and prosper. Obama is totally incapable of coping with the Middle East problem because he thinks it will respond to his brilliant rhetoric.
Hillary Clinton sort of makes it up as she goes along. You can see this in her eyes as she greets each person she encounters in her campaign as though the person is a long-lost friend or some kind of bosom buddy. Her true nature was revealed years ago when she uttered things that I don't care to repeat here at her husband and some of the Secret Service people assigned to protect her. You can see some of this coming out in Bill Clinton now too.
Neither candidate cottons to tough questions that they can't answer without exposing their true nature. Neither candidate really has what it takes to be a good president.
I'm not happy with all of John McCain's positions either. I do respect him for what he has endured and accomplished, and of the way he is conducting his campaign. Of the three possible candidates he has the fewest negatives so I'll probably vote for him unless I decide to register a protest vote. I might do that if I can see that all my state's Electoral Delegates are going to be taken by Obama or Clinton.
This has been a long post, and one I know could provoke counter punches on this thread. I've been warmly received through several PMs and public posts indicating that it's fair to roast any political candidate but not each other.
I'm comfortable with that, and grateful for those who recognize that my contributions are meant to be provocative, not hostile. |
