"...hateful ideology which underpins bin Ladenism is properly described as radical Islamic extremism."

There are innumerable ways to be 'radical'... (just as there are numerous different forms --- often at loggerheads with each other --- of 'radical Islam'). Just as there has been (especially in historical times) within Christianity.

So, just saying 'radical' doesn't really mean much of anything.

OBL's *particular* brand of 'radical Islam' is a deeply fundamentalist version of the SUNNI branch of Islam, birthed and grow and promulgated on the ARABIAN PENINSULA, supported officially and unofficially by Saudis and Yemenis (& now others around the world where the strict fundamentalism has been transplanted to, such as Pakistan, Egypt, Afghanistan, etc.)

If McCain is really to be the 'educator' in the matters, he should first clearly come to understand the Sunni/Shiite differences.
