You haven't dealt with my point that the so-called majority of Muslims that disagree with Al Queda and Islamofascism in all its forms are silent.

If we fall, we'll fall from within. We'll fall from lack of backbone, or from some weird idea that American culture is somehow deficient instead of superior to these medieval cultures that fail to grow up.<<

I don't propose to co-exist with such entities. I am all for opposing terrorists in a number of ways.

I think that the silence of the majority of Muslims is a problem, and I think we should deal with it by making damned sure that we stay on the moral high ground. The better our image worldwide, the more those silent Muslims will be emboldened to speak out against the extremists.

I agree that Islamic culture tends toward the medieval, and that our way of life is superior. But it's not enough just to believe we are superior. We have to actually act like it.

It is not our business to tell other people how to live. If they are willing to leave us alone, we should leave them alone. If some of them aren't wiling to leave us alone, which is clearly the case, we should deal with them.

One thing we should not do, however, is to engage in paranoid fantasies about their posing an existential threat to Western Culture, when they clearly don't. Such paranoia serves their purposes better than it serves ours.
