My point is that economic growth takes place under a variety of circumstances including having a dictatorship or even a government some consider socialist. The simplistic view of too many in the US is that no government or little government always creates economic growth and individual freedom.

That is just childish silliness and not proven in the real world.

When the government gets enough pressure to regulate its production, Chinese products may be safe enough to buy again. Left to their own devices, however, producers in China will continue to foist dangerous products on us and then, perhaps, get someone to sue for the bad publicity it generates.
