So if we were all to be judged by association, we'd all be guilty of something in your eyes.
Of course we are judged by association. Particularly, presidential candidates. In the case of Obama, who has no track record, you have no other way TO judge him.
But his association with Wright, his association with terrorists, with Farrakhan, all these things go into forming an opinion about him. Certainly, you have judged Bush by his association with various people, we judged Gary Hart by his association with Donna Rice, Clinton by his association with Gennifer Flowers and Monica, it is totally legitimate.
In Obama's case, it is critical that he be judged based on his association with known racists and terrorists, because we have nothing else on which to judge him. If he had some record of accomplishment, then you could at least weigh the accomplishments against the associations with undesirables. But in his case, the associations are all you have.
Ultimately, the thing that WILL defeat Obama is his lack of a track record. I do not believe McCain will take him to task over his associations with racists, terrorists, and anti-Americans. But the lack of a track record is going to be what does Obama in. |
