Mr. Fredy Salazar reports

SALAZAR AND OTHER MINING COMPANIES MEET WITH PRESIDENT CORREA AND TOP OFFICIALS: CORREA SAYS RESPONSIBLE MINING WILL GO AHEAD IN ECUADOR

Salazar Resources Ltd., along with seven other mining companies (Aurelian Resources Inc., Cornerstone Capital Resources Inc., Dynasty Metals & Mining Inc., Ecometals Ltd., Iamgold Corp., International Minerals Corp., and Corriente Resources Inc.), and the Canadian Ambassador to Ecuador, Christian LaPointe, has held a joint meeting with the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and other senior authorities of the mining sector with the objective of analyzing the effect of the recently announced new mining mandate.

During this meeting President Correa stated that the intention of his government is to regulate the mining activities in Ecuador fairly; so that mining is beneficial to companies, the state and local communities, and to establish a solid foundation for the future development of the mining industry in Ecuador. "We were encouraged by the tone of the discussion in that the government's goal appears to be working toward a solution for all parties involved," stated Fredy Salazar.

President Correa stated that on Monday, April 28, the government will begin a process of open dialogue that will serve as a basis for drafting the new mining law and invited all companies to participate actively in the development of this new mining law.

Salazar anticipates meeting with the authorities of Ecuador on a continuing basis so to have more information and influence on how the mandate will affect its mining operations and ultimately its shareholders. The company will vigorously participate in the development of the new mining law.
