More than 42% of agricultural land in Brazil is not cultivated, and among Brazil's largest landholdings of 1,000 hectares or more than 88% of arable land is permanently idle.

The US is only 10% larger in area than Brazil yet produces tremendously more agricultural output.

Rather than deal with the inherent inefficiencies in the Brazilian farm sector, incompetent government ministers can only suggest burning down national parks to increase available farmland.

Very sad.
