As you know, I have sung in a lot of churches of different mainline denominations over many years, and not once did I hear any suggestion that tithing was mandatory. It may be more common in the fundamental, evangelical churches, the literal Biblebased ones. It's also between an individual and God. Suggesting that Obama's failure to tithe says anything at all about him is really reaching.
