Perhaps your generation has a different vision??

Yes. We spent our formative political years watching politicians rip each other to shreds with progressively worse words and tactics, leading us to ugly stalemates that are now jeopardizing our standard of living and our position in the world.

We don't really see how rehashing one of the players from that era is going to make anything more than a marginal difference. No matter how tough a "fighter" they may be, they will just fight the old battles with the same old results all over again.

Democratic centralism is basically the notion that central party committees are better suited to tell citizens what they want, instead of open elections and referendums.

John may want to be more precise than that. My academic days are 25 years behind me now.
