As I was taught, analysis is looking at a situation and finding data to tell you what actually happened, not simply assuming a motive or two and slapping it on millions of people.

The latter is not only utterly implausible as a matter of social science most of the time, it is a deficient methodology because you clearly did not test other motivations by looking for evidence for them.

If you are simply here to bloviate, go right ahead. Just don't post it to me unless you want more replies like this.
