Osicom Technologies Sues Dow Jones for Libel Over August 25 Barron's Article
Company and CEO Seek Statement in Open Court to Vindicate Reputation
LONDON, United Kingdom, October 15, 1997 - Osicom Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIBR) and its chief executive officer,Par Chadha, announced today that they are suing Dow Jones, Inc., an article which appeared 1997. From the High Court in London, Writs claiming injunctions and damages for libel have been issued today. Chadha began conducting business in the high technology industry in the U.K. in 1986, and Osicom maintains offices in Windsor.
Mr. Chadha said, "The Barron's article is highly defamatory. It suggests that I am nothing more than a common fraudster. It is filled with innuendo, misstatements and false associations regarding me. And it contains false statements about Osicom."
"My reputation has been severely tarnished," Chadha said. "And the achievements of Osicom Technologies have been obscured. We gave Barron's every opportunity to publish an accurate story, but they declined to do so. Osicom and I will now take every step to see that the record is set straight." >>
