If you don't have a problem with outsourcing medical care in order to cut costs, why do you have a problem with a set price list and a single payer? What happens when, tomorrow, the government sets prices on all procedures, outlaws private insurers and says this is what's what.

If the prices it sets are reasonable and it will pay for all of them for all people, what happens? Aside from the crying and gnashing of teeth, what actually happens?

What happens when Walmart, your largest customer and 80% of your revenue suddenly tells you they will pay 10% less for your products next year? What do you do?

The Democrats would, one would hope, get rid of the ridiculous provision for not negotiating drug prices. It is hard to tell with all the lobbyists milling around Congress what anyone will do once the Republican damage has already been done. Who knows how long it will take to clean up the fiasco that is the Bush administration.

I think I meant no negotiation and not noncompete.

Yes, you do agree with what I am saying about costs and the need for reform. The other option is to sit like a bump on a log and wait for the flood to sweep you away.
