Brad, the WSJ has an article about this year's Noble Prize in Economics. The winner is.......the author of the options pricing strategy known as Black-Scholes, which has allowed the options market to expand like Topsy since '73, when options were first traded on an exchange.

Selling an option now would, as Rob says, be like selling your stock. Unless you were selling your option.
