I can't believe my eyes either: Intel reports disappointing earnings due in part to its product mix gravitating toward the lower end. Earlier Seagate warned that high-end drives were not selling well. High-end videochip makers are not exactly prospering. Gateway 2000 has disappointed...

Another word, margins appear to be getting squeezed throughout the PC industry, yet Compaq and Dell are flying high. What gives? My gut feeling is that CPQ and DELL investors are about to get merrill-lynched.
