I am a pretty good poker player. So I think about odds every day. I also have a pretty strong background in statistics.

I look at Hanaford with its 100 billion dollar price tag clean up, and the fact that some fear the leaking radiation may have gotten into the ground water headed for the Columbia River; and I do not like the fact that they still do not have a secure place for nuclear waste disposal; and I saw what happened at Chernobel. And that was a very minor accident and the core did not even melt down.

No one can live within a certain distance of it---forever. And they had to give all the kids in Europe Iodine to prevent Thyroid cancer. 3 mile Island.

None of that stuff was supposed to happen. There is nothing in human behaviro so far to indicate we are responsible enough to deal with zillions of nuclear power plants in a 100 countries.

Safety, waste disposal. We are really courting a big disaster if we go down that path.

In poker those would be called tells. They tell me the odds are real bad if the whole world starts buidling nuclear power plants that sooner or later one is going to meltdown and hell is going to break loose, plus other major problems.

Looked at what Russia did with all of its nuclear waste!

It is a sure thing we wil screw up. We could not even figure out to give the women the vote until 1919 or force integration on the south in 1964.

Those two issues above, alone, show without a doubt we are yet children in our thinking! Children do not build nuclear power plants-lol!!
