Two years ago, Hillary Clinton would not have foreseen this contretemps with Barack Obama in her wildest dreams....lol.
Indeed. And her biggest problem is that wrt all the obvious lines of attack, she's only marginally better:
-He's inexperienced. Okay, he's a first term Senator and she's a second term Senator, unless you really want to count First Lady experience...
-He hasn't accomplished anything. And she has accomplished what, exactly?
-He talks a good bipartisan game, but he has never worked across the aisle. And she has?
-He's too left-wing. She is a liberal herself.
-He talks about unity, but how does the most liberal Senator intend to achieve it? Unity isn't exactly Hillary's strong suit either.
-He's not a trustworthy character, because he says one thing in Chicago and another on the stump. Don't even go there, Hillary.
And so on. That's why many of her attacks boomeranged. So far she's only got two lines that have worked:
-I'm vetted, he's not. I may have a trailer-truckload of baggage, but it's all out there. We're still learning about Obama.
-I'm tougher. I keep fighting when I'm down, when the adulation has stopped. He stands there and looks irritated.
Of course, the GOP is watching with great interest as John McCain can credibly use every single one of these lines of attack, with a track record of accomplishment to back it up. |
