Not all large companies grow because they serve their customers well. Sometimes they are the only game in town and, at other times, they get noncompete, costplus contracts from cronies.
The market isn't that efficient because, you know, there is no such thing as a free market.

We used to get deductions for credit card interest and personal debt but that went away. It can happen as can welfare to work which, while not a direct transfer, tried to shove people from the public rolls to private employment.
