No, it was Enron. I would think that everyone would know that now that the truth is really out there.

There is PROOF that the energy companies manipulated supply (remember the 'death star'?) to create artificial shortages and price spikes. All during that time, the Bush administration refused to step in and stop the grand larceny for petty political purposes. Many people, especially low income and elderly folk, in CA lost considerable means when energy prices spiked and Enron thieves high-fived each other.

I can't believe there is anyone who doesn't know this story. Guess people who only get their 'information' from FOX and Oxycontin Limburger aren't exposed to the truth.

If you think that oil, gas, and energy are a 'free market' system, then I think you need to go back and hit the old econ books again. The astronomical capital needed to become a player in the energy markets remove a key ingredient of a free market system - the ample supply of competitors who keep prices regulated at a fair level.
