The social damage inflicted by crack, heroin and now crystal meth dwarf the impact of pot by so many magnitudes, I am amazed there is any question about what our priorities should be.

Having lived in a society where soft drugs were not only legal but a major tourist attraction, I have seen exactly how the policy would work when implemented.

But the idea is too radical for most of the American electorate. They would rather hang on to their imaginary fears.
