Were you not aware people die in the streets where there are no safety nets? A bit up thread there was some chatter about knowing people who have been overcome by hard drugs. Lots of comments, including mine, from those who had not encountered one. Well, I never in my life saw anyone dead in the street, either. So I don't imagine that Uncle Sam paying people to lose weight would improve that statistic.
