I have no proof, but I think the ARU situation mirrors one of the key principles of investing....follow the money. I am no big fan of Slider, but one thing he bangs away on is true...big money-big power is pushing the pieces around the board here. Heads of Goldman, Morgan, Barrick etc., foreign country leaders, they all cheese it up on the golf course and Washington gala's and economic summits in Switzerland. Get in tight with a few key news editors and gain some media control...control the media, control the markets..create trading opps. The speed of this reversal is suspicious, as is the extreme volume in ARU stock on Monday. Know that big smart money wants to make profits quick, big and with as little risk as possible...the temptation to manipulate is extreme, simply because they have the power, opportunity and connections to do it.
Big gold deposits just draw in players....look at the Suharto circus in Indonesia...big mining was lined up to give him and his kids advice during Busang frenzy. Know that Ecuadorian officials have been courted by well connected directors of big mining (Clinton, Bush, Jim Bob and proxies there of)
Wish we could find out just whose accounts all those 3 to 4 dollar Aurelian shares went into. I know RR took down half a mil, Prometheous apparantly 7 mil, I threw in for .00001 of a mil...where's the rest???
The good news is that knowing what manipulation looks like, one can trade it.
