my wife had founded and still is on the board of the "Women in Media Club" in HK, and the girls and ladies of that organization includes on and off screen executives of traditional and new media, including the global organizations asia / hong kong office, of all colours, nationalities, creed, faith, etc etc, ages between 21+ to 50 something
some single guy friends occasionally ask to be setup, but the single girls of the club tend to be hooked up already, because they are quality
a family officer of one of the wealthiest clans in hk just e-mailed my wife, specifying what he is hoping to settle down with, and here are some phrases:

Smart, but not bossy Gentle demeanor but strong character Presentable but not fussy [edit: the guy is asking for the impossible, according to wife] Can cook a plus

... I am guessing that lines out the typical american girls in the club ;0) if i were of the same ungenerous, un-learned, and uncooth disposition as cb ilaine, but since i am not, i will not make such a guess
what do you think?
otoh, club member kristie lou stout of cnn youtube.com , an american girl, stanford graduate, of strong german and gentle chinese extraction, certainly of traditional values and new character, is assuredly of all of the above spec-ed factors, but, alas, is already married to malaysian chinese lawyer here in freedom hong kong and who is published, learned, presumably is not ungenerous and quite diligent, unlike what cb ilaine was referencing, i guess.
chugs, tj
p.s. i suspect cb ilaine hangs with the wrong crowds, whatever their obvious colour, alleged faith, apparent learning, supposed economics, and banal values - some characteristics are in fact priceless and so not for purchase
i am guessing she ought to try improving her associations if at all able, situation and circumstances allowing, and assuming that she is cognizant of the shortcomings of current associations, which in the main, i suppose, are divorcing couples, broken faith, bad characters, bankrupts, deadbeats, whatnots, etc
but i am not presumptuous enough to offer her advice based on no particularly claimed knowledge |
