Chevron has been trying to sell their 50% share of Cobasys since last year if you're interested in buying a battery company. They'll only lose $83 million this year.

I suspect you could buy the shares for very little but you'll need deep pockets, as Cobasys has long had a heavy annual appetite for R&D money. They've been on the verge of an important new battery breakthrough since 1960.
