I was looking at the door on our 737 when I was boarding last month and determined that the door is no prevention from reaching the cockpit. In the first place they open inward which makes it infinitely easier to open then if it opened outward towards the cabin. Secondly there just isn't a lot there. I have little doubt I could kick the door in with not a whole lot of effort.

Flight crew didn't know this but I was sitting in first class second row and I was their door lock. No POS was going to kick that door down while I was still alive.
