1 ....why did the fed write these papers.... because it is concerned about the effect of house values on a families net worth ...... and that net worth will determine the quality of their retirement...... 2...as one can see a large percentage of americans are already in trouble with regard to saving for retirement..... 3...the second paper also explains how poverty is defined.... as one can see it is still largely based on food prices..... now we have soaring food prices which implies more people will fall under the definition of poor... 4....those people will gain rights to more gov aid ...from medicare to rent subsidies to food stamps..... 5....all to the added cost of tax payers.
