I sort of favor paper bags because they come from a renewable resource. Plastic bags are a nuisance to recycle, as those links suggest. Paper is not much better.

The only thing I don't like more than paper or plastic bags is the government telling me I have to use one or the other, or switch to reusable bags that I have to cart around in my car.

Let the market decide. I'm OK with that.
