Sounds fair enough. One place we could start saving is by closing unnecessary military bases all around the world where the countries we reside in can defend themselves. For example, why do we still have a sizable presence in South Korea? SK has a million man army and the best U.S. military equipment their sizable wealth can buy them. We should provide allies like SK a nuclear umbrella and treaties that state an attack on them is an attack on the US, but we should limit our expenditures on personnel and hardware in-country. That would save us tons of money. I'd rather build a few more aircraft carriers and limit permanent bases around the world. That would be far more effective, providing lighting strike force projection anywhere in the world. In addition, it would be far less intrusive and FAR less expensive.
