Ruilin, I disagree. This means that Lee wants no part of ATT since if they merged he wouldn't be in control. Well if you have to get bigger, and you have to be in long distance, and you sure want to put a pretty bow on the package in the event BT makes a bid for GTE; then you buy MCI. So when BT makes their merger offer, Lee is in charge of North America. Not a bad idea, give the guy credit. If the offer fails its because GTE's rival WCOM has to come back and up their offer for MCI, which they couldn't afford to begin with.

This stock is very much in play so its definely a hold, if ATT were to buy GTE its a sell, If BT buys GTE then its the Gobal Telcom of the century that WCOM could only dream about .
