I've read alot on Obama and don't believe he's as liberal as that ranking or the Reps are painting him out to be. To me, he seems very measured. What puts him left though is that he wants to raise taxes.

Actually, there is a lot more than just taxes doing this. He supports socialized medicine, which is an absolute disaster looking for a place to happen. He has opposed repeal of the death tax (technically a tax issue, but the death tax is a particularly egregious form of taxation).

He has opposed anti crime, anti-gang legislation. He has supported early prison release for criminal sex offenders (in '99, as a state senator, the ONLY state senator to do so).

He voted "present" on a bill to keep porn stores 1,000 feet away from schools -- rather than supporting it. He has, of course, refused to support the war on terror.

He is a huge believer in the bogus, alarmist claim of global warming. He supports raising the minimum wage and the EITC. He wants to spend more billions at the federal level on education.

I could go on all day. But there is just no way you can paint this man as anything other than an ultra extreme, ultra liberal.
