What's striking to me about that chart is how no candidate manages to achieve much more than a 50% approval rating.

McCain and Obama have each, at some point, eked out a 56% favorable rating, and McCain hit 57% in one poll, but it didn't last in either case. They both tend to float around 51 to 52%, with a slight edge for McCain.

I'll be interested in seeing how that table looks in October, once the Democratic nominee has had a chance to start hammering away at McCain's questionable policy proposals, like the "Rogue State Rollback" idea.
