First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Yes, I understand those slave ships had two swimming pools.....one on the upper deck; the other on the lower deck; that cocktails were served promptly at 5 PM; that there was a multiplex in the forward aft....and French chefs were brought in to do all the cooking.

This pronouncement on the part of Buchanan is so ridiculous that I am stunned someone in as prominent position as he would make such a statement. He will be branded as a racist for the rest of his life......not that he probably cares all that much......after all, in his circles, that's probably seen as a good thing. It will also insure that the GOP returns to being a regional party and eventually its demise.
