I think it's better white America know this is out there. Up until now there's been an awful lot of ignorance in the white community about the black community- I think that's a huge problem. I'm not sure why it's more damaging to know the truth. For white America to start to address some of the weirder narratives in the black community (assuming they want to) they first need to know those narratives exist. Keeping the divide between black and white a secret doesn't seem the best idea to me. I'm not sure what Wright intends is all that important. IMO this is all about disclosure and dialog- and both of those things have certainly started. I'm glad for it. There are nutty views in all areas of the country. Some people actually believe blacks don't have any reason to still be angry, and that whites are now "the oppressed". Go figure. We need to talk about this stuff.
