Of course, there are already solar thermal plants operating in the Mojave, and PG&E has signed contracts for up to 900MW of additional solar power plants there. The new plants will most likely be online by 2011.

I don't think you could build coal or solar plants faster than that.

You may think it's stupid to consider the environmental impact of building any type of power plant. I think it's only prudent.
