I was going to reply with essentially the same thing. If I catch someone siphoning gas from my tank, I am likely to just chase them off and/or call the cops. If I catch them drilling a hole in my tank, they are taking a trip to the hospital, either for lead poisoning in their butt or to get treatment for the new MLB logos all over their very swollen body.

Suspect my response would not be that unusual if this actually became common.

I do agree the tank would not explode. You need a stoichiometric ratio for that to occur.
