Is it sensible for Alaska to have umpty mega$billion to waste when it would be better spent where people actually want to live?

The USA bought Alaska from Russia, so presumably the oil should be owned by the USA, not just the few crazy snow lovers who like deep snow in early May.

I'll check Alaska's population. Maybe people go there to collect lots of the loot then move south again [for all I know], as we did going to live in Canada in the 1970s.

670,000 - tiny population.

With so much oil wealth, per capita they must be super rich. Hmmm, now I need to check oil and gas production.
