Just before all the 'rice-shortage' headlines, less than two weeks ago probably, there was a sale on rice at my favourite little grocery store, 2kg bags of Texana brand long grain brown, 3.49 apiece [? - from memory], so i bought four, like brown rice once in a while, my wife doesn't, she buys basmati and thai etc in 10kg and 20kg sacks, there are likely 60kg of four varieties in the house ... she's down south, so doesn't get to choose this week

There is no shortage whatsoever of US rice, Texas exports rice to China and has for many years ... and it's perfectly good stuff imho, the taste comes almost entirely from what you put into your rice mush ... mine is much like Mq's, basically as the rice is cooking, you chop and insert anything you find to hand, my must-haves are onions, garlic, cilantro, sambal oelek, lime, fish, then whatever ... today likely dandelion leaves among other greenery found outdoors, they worked well yesterday

Fed decision in twenty minutes ... how cheap are golds going to get, hmmm
