Shipping cod to China from Norway will be easy when the North Pole is free of ice.

While such a thing "can't last", it's surprising how long things like that do last. So far, it has been thousands of years that some communities do well and are wealthy and others live in poverty and barbarian squalor.

Perhaps China will become as wealthy as Norway, but there is a long way to go.

I doubt the North Pole will be free of ice for long. So far, it's just a promise. Or, a threat. Though it really does seem a good thing that ships could sail right through that "North West passage"
