His reactions to Wright have been slow and befuddled. He should have cut all ties in March and talked to the black community about not falling for such nonsense. By saying that "I can no more disown Rev. Wright than I can disown the black community," Obama left himself vulnerable to Wright's exhibitionism in a way that a more skilled politician would never have do

well, let's be honest here...

can't we reasonably agree that one of the FAULTS of GWB has been his blind loyalty to his inner circle...

who can forget 'great job, brownie'

where the clintons deserve 'credit' is their willingness to be ruthless in the pursuit of power...it appears that obama has some old fashioned virtues wrt giving old friends and supporters the benefit of the doubt at his own expense...i'm cynical enough to believe that he fully understood the type of rhetoric that wright was preaching and took a blind eye approach when it served his purpose (local politician) once he hit the national stage, he needed to cut the cord with wright...of course that would mean alienating his political base..

oh what to do?

let's just say events have overtaken prior loyalties
