BayanTel is the largest wireless landline provider running on the CDMA platform in Philippines, and it is the majority owner of the second-largest long-distance backbone network.

Huawei’s All-IP solutions, coupled with environmentally-friendly technologies such as its Green Base Station Solution meet the demands of Bayan’s development strategy by expanding the coverage of the network by more than 15% while decreasing the power consumption of the network by more than 20 percent.

Bayan is focusing on low-cost voice services in a market which is dominated by cheap SMS tariffs from the mobile operators.

“With our wireless landline service, we are giving Filipinos their voices back,” said Bayan Chief Executive Consultant Tunde Fafunwa. “We are giving them the opportunity to make unlimited local calls while being mobile, and as more and more consumers recognize the value of the service, we need a reliable partner in building our network and we believe Huawei is the right choice.”

Bayan Telecommunications (BayanTel) is a telecommunications company serving areas in Metro Manila, Bicol and local exchange service areas in the Visayas and Mindanao regions combined cover a population of over 25 million, nearly 33% of the population of the Philippines.
