The US is the safest it's been (from attack) since I was very young.

That you can say this, 7 years after 9/11, is nothing short of amazing and I would like to know whom you credit with it. I know damned well you would never give Bush his due.

The truth is we continue to be highly exposed and subject to an attack that could kill millions. But Bush has done a fantastic job of protecting our homeland since 9/11, taking the fight to the terrorists.

However we are more economically vulnerable than we have ever been. Our enemies control the lifeblood of our economy and could bring us down in two months.

I don't totally disagree that we are economically vulnerable. However, our enemies are not in a position to bring us down in two months without also bringing themselves down. While AQ and other terrorist are willing to commit suicide to bring us down, there are no entire countries who are willing to do so. Not yet, anyway.
