How about a baseball metaphor?

With the bases loaded & two outs, and the game on the line...

"Never Waste a Pitch"

SOTB

That 2008 year to date M2 chart from the St. Louis Fed
wouldn't reproduce very clearly. You can go to the Fed's
site here:

research.stlouisfed.org[1][id]=M2&s[1]=lin&s[1][scale]=Left&s[1][line_color]=%230000FF&s[1][range]=Custom&s[1][cosd]=2008-01-01&s[1][coed]=2008-04-14&s[1][revision_date]=&s[1][vintage_date]=2008-05-01

Look how perfectly the dip in M2 signaled the top in gold
and gold stocks in mid-March.

Take a look at that chart and tell me that the gold price
isn't an accurate barometer on inflation, and money supply.

Once again... it's not about "magic" bullets as much as it
is about using the "right" bullets at the "right" time.

If you were using the right bullets... Gold:Yen, and that
chart... this correction wasn't a surprise, because there
were multiple confirmations.

And PS:

Ron, you are 110% correct. The market will soon discover
the reality of negative "real rates."

Be patient.

When, not if...

Cetnral Bankers will continue to do what they do best...

-- print money and inflate.
