mindmeld, Energy independence (where imports of oil are a small portion of our energy needs) will in the long run come from electrical energy (and hydrogen as a proxy) replacing oil. To get there, you can either use coal (and poison earth with pollution) or nuclear energy, augmented by solar energy. Obama does not get it. Neither does Hillary for that matter. Both have been sabotaging nuclear energy. Joe
