bob,I think that the impact on AMLN will be somewhat dependent on the terms of the deal as well as the partner. If its as I expect (a mega-deal with JNJ) then I think it will have a negative impact on AMLN (as mentioned in thestreet.com article - as well as analysts whocover AMLN). However, the LGND deal isn't a secret and some or most of the negative impact may have been discounted. Of course if the deal isn't big, or is with someone other than JNJ, then it may positively impact AMLN, because the discount would then have been inappropriate.
