JER ANNOUNCES FIRST COMMERCIAL COMPOUND ORDER WITH TULIP CORPORATION
Vancouver, B.C. – May 1, 2008 - JER Envirotech International Corp. (TSX Venture: JER; Frankfurt Stock Exchange: KFTB) is pleased to announce that the first commercial order for its wood polymer biocomposite compound has been received from Tulip Corporation headquartered in Milwaukee, WI.
The purchase order concludes a six month R&D program with Tulip resulting in the development of a custom designed biocomposite master batch compound that Tulip can blend with various recycle streams used to produce environmentally friendly interior and exterior molding, trim and industrial extruded profiles. These “green” products take advantage of the wood polymer biocomposite compound technology developed by JER Envirotech, and the untapped scrap polymer resources within Tulip Corporation to create a new product line that contains up to 98% recycled content. This initial order targets delivery of compound to Tulip’s Niagara Falls, NY facilities in late May to produce products for the summer construction market. Based on initial projections, JER anticipates producing Tulip’s annual requirement of 400,000 – 500,000 pounds of biocomposite compound from their facilities in Delta BC.
Tulip Corporation consists of two distinct operating divisions: 1) The Molded Products Division and; 2) PHI, a capital equipment manufacturer of Precision Hydraulic Presses, Tube/Pipe Fabricating Equipment and Automatic Beam Welding Systems. The Molded Products Division is a single and multi cavity injection molding manufacturer servicing the construction, battery, dairy, solid waste and bottled water markets. Tulip has molding facilities in Milwaukee, WI (1982) and Niagara Falls, NY (1985) supported by a technical center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
