Carter actually looks much better with the passage of time. If not for how he handled the hostage crisis, which I hated at the time, the hostages would be dead. They ALL lived.

If we'd stuck to Carter's drive for energy independence when he started it in the '70s, 9/11 might never have happened and our country might stand like an energy independent giant among the oil addicted world today.

Carter COULD be going around telling us all he "told us so" way back then, but he's too much of a Christian and good man.

Bush has elevated the standing of EVERY president in my lifetime. I used to think Carter was the worst.
