My bb gun is strictly a woodpecker popper. I'm having a good time practicing with it in my basement. I shoot a homemade target inside a cardboard box. I can retrieve the plastic bb's and reuse them. This thing is really pretty accurate up to about 20 feet, or so. I seriously doubt it would kill a woodpecker, but it'll get his attention. Wouldn't shoot at the finches.
