Hi Mike,

Not sure if you heard but I read something the other day that some company came up with a catalytic converter that does a much better job incorporating gold partially in the place of platinum. I think I read that as much as 1/3 of the platinum would be replaced with gold. Given their relative prices, this might get adopted fairly fast.

So maybe a safer play would be a paired trade to go long gold and offset that bet, in whole or in part, with a short-type position on platinum?

Not really sure how much platinum is currently used in this application, but assume it's a significant amount.
