It's completely a cult Maybe, no more then the religion of "infinite oil". The recent strike in Scotland by oil workers was compensated by delivering 65,000 tons of fuel that would last for just 10 days. That's just little itty bitty Scotland with it's population of less then 10 million. TEN DAYS worth of fuel! It's crazy to think oil consumption can continue on that scale indefinitely. You also have to be of a particularly stubborn frame of mind to insist vapourizing (burning) that amount of fuel (on a world wide scale) isn't going to effect the climate. Considering world wide consumption of fuel, including coal, it would be most unlikely that climate would not be effected over several decades imho. The religion of "infinite oil" is driven by politics only. Certain beliefs have to be vigorously upheld. You can see the practitioners on this thread every day without fail. Read passages from the bible according to Ayn Rand every day and you will be saved -g-
