Hi Jurgis - I am not sure if Buffet still has his $real/$US holdings, but according to this article it implies he still has the position on.

Berkshire Hathaway raked in $100 million during 2007 with its holding of the real since the value of it rose 26% during the past 12 months. With the real already up 6.7% this year, the future continues to look promising in regards to Buffett’s holding....".

I guess a $100 million profit could be considered in material for the size of his portfolio.

It's not clear if Buffet has any positions in companies located in Brazil as certain foreign & private company holdings do not always show up in his SEC filings (ie TescoPLC in UK). Perhaps his stock holder's letter for 2008 that will be released next week might shed a bit more light on his foreign investment holdings.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of this meeting. I think CNBC will be covering the event.
